What has changed in v0.37 ?

Updates for Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5):
  • Changed inter-thread locks from NSLock to NSConditionLock.
  • Workaround Leopard bug now allowing splash screen to be closed from AppleScript.
Fixed bug in CW interface where cmd-R would not return to receive mode when not in QSK mode.

What has changed in v0.38 ?

Changing the background color in the PSK interface of the regular cocoaModem window now works.

Added a "cocoaModem Lite" interface option that presents a minimal RTTY and PSK user interface which is meant to be used when cocoaModem is controlled by some other application (e.g., RUMPed). In the "Lite" mode, cocoaModem accepts character inputs only through AppleScripts. The decoded characters are passed through AppleScripts to the client application.

What has changed in v0.39 ?

More Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatibility fixes.

What has changed in v0.40 ?

Recognizes the microHAM microKEYER II.

What has changed in v0.41 ?

cocoaModem now allows multi-source input devices to be directly selected in the Config panels, without having to select sources from t he System Preferences.

Before this, a bug caused you to have to select more than one modem or the input device would not be activated.

What has changed in v0.42 ?

Yet more Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) compatibility fixes. This should fix the issue of having no cocoaModem plist inside your Preferences folder in Leopard.

What has changed in v0.43 ?

cocoaModem will now handle a sound device such as the Edirol FA-66, that has multiple streams per device, and it also now handles multiple devices from the same manufacturer.

The following shows the input device menu for a machine that has an Edirol FA-66 and two Griffin Technology iMics installed (in addition to a micro KEYER II):

Notice that the four inputs (streams) from the FA-66 are renamed, with a number in parenthesis indicating the stream number. Likewise, notice that the two iMics are distinguished by the number in the names.

In the past, for sound devices with multiple sources (e.g., the Built-in Device with microphone, Line Input and Digital Input sources), all the modem interfaces had to use the same source. With v0.43, each interface can now use a different source from a common device.

The default Preferences for the "Lite" window is now set to be off. When starting cocoaModem on a fresh machine (without a plist) cocoaModem used to save a plist that has the Lite interface selected unless you went into the Preference Panel to tell it not to. The default is now to turn off the Lite window. (Many thanks to Marc PA9MG for reporting this.)
